Author Guidelines

Journal of Emerging Paradigms in Computing Systems (JEPCS) welcomes original theoretical, experimental, methodological, and applied research across contemporary and emerging areas of computing.

Submissions should present a clearly defined research problem, explain the novelty and significance of the contribution, describe the methodology or system design in sufficient detail, and provide appropriate validation through experiments, analysis, simulation, benchmarks, datasets, case studies, or other suitable methods.

Manuscripts should normally include a title, abstract, keywords, introduction, related work or background, methodology or system design, results and discussion, conclusion, declarations where applicable, and references. The organization may be adapted when appropriate to the nature of the contribution.

Peer Review: Research Articles, Review Articles, Survey Articles, and Short Communications are subject to peer review. Authors should therefore include complete author names, affiliations, and corresponding-author information in the submitted manuscript. Manuscripts should not be anonymized before submission.

Abstract and Keywords: Research Articles, Review Articles, and Survey Articles should include an abstract of no more than 250 words. Short Communications should use an abstract of no more than 200 words. Authors should normally provide 4–7 keywords.

Figures and Tables: All figures and tables must be numbered, cited in the text, accompanied by informative captions, and provided at sufficient quality for scholarly publication.

References: References must be accurate, complete, and directly relevant to the work. DOI information should be supplied where available. Excessive or inappropriate self-citation should be avoided.

Research Data and Code: Authors are encouraged to make datasets, source code, experimental configurations, models, and other supporting materials available through appropriate repositories whenever feasible. Restrictions on access should be explained.

Use of Generative AI: Authors may use generative AI and AI-assisted technologies during manuscript preparation, but all substantive use must be transparently disclosed. Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, integrity, references, data, analyses, and conclusions of the submitted work. AI tools cannot be listed as authors. Routine spelling, grammar, formatting, and reference-management tools do not require disclosure.

Research Ethics: Authors are responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable ethical, legal, privacy, consent, and institutional requirements.

Originality: Submissions must represent original work that has not been published previously and is not simultaneously under consideration by another journal.

 

Manuscript Templates

Authors should prepare their manuscripts using the official Journal of Emerging Paradigms in Computing Systems (JEPCS) manuscript templates.

Authors should follow the structure, formatting, heading styles, figure and table presentation, reference style, and other instructions provided in the selected template.

The journal template should not be modified in a manner that affects readability, consistency, or the required manuscript structure.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements:

  • The manuscript is original, has not been published previously, and is not currently under consideration by another journal.
  • The submission falls within the aims and scope of JEPCS and is submitted to the appropriate article section.
  • The manuscript includes the full names and institutional affiliations of all authors, together with complete corresponding-author information, in accordance with the JEPCS manuscript template.
  • The manuscript contains a clear title, abstract, keywords, main text, references, and all necessary figures and tables.
  • All references have been checked for accuracy and completeness, and DOI information has been included where available.
  • All figures and tables are numbered, captioned, legible, and cited in the manuscript.
  • All listed authors have made an appropriate scholarly contribution and have approved the submitted version.
  • Any conflicts of interest or competing interests have been disclosed.
  • Funding information has been disclosed where applicable.
  • Any required ethical approval, consent, or institutional authorization has been obtained where applicable.
  • Any substantive use of generative AI or AI-assisted tools has been disclosed appropriately.
  • Data, code, software, or other supporting materials are made available where appropriate, or any restrictions on availability are explained.
  • The submission complies with the journal's research-integrity and publication-ethics requirements.

Research Articles

Research Articles present original and substantial contributions to computing systems and related emerging paradigms. Submissions should demonstrate clear novelty, sound methodology, rigorous evaluation, and a well-supported contribution to theory, methods, systems, architectures, or applications.

Review Articles

Review Articles provide critical and structured syntheses of established or rapidly developing areas of computing. Submissions should critically evaluate existing research, identify methodological limitations and research gaps, and provide well-supported directions for future investigation.

Survey Articles

Survey Articles provide comprehensive and systematic coverage of a defined research area, technology, methodology, or class of computing systems. Submissions should organize and critically compare the existing literature, provide a clear taxonomy or conceptual structure where appropriate, and identify unresolved challenges and future research directions.

Short Communications

Short Communications report concise but significant research findings, novel system concepts, technical insights, preliminary results of substantial interest, or emerging research directions that merit timely scholarly communication.

Authors retain copyright in their work and grant the Journal of Emerging Paradigms in Computing Systems (JEPCS) the right of first publication.

Articles published in JEPCS are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0). This license permits others to share, reproduce, distribute, adapt, and build upon the published work, including for commercial purposes, provided appropriate credit is given to the original author(s) and the source of publication is acknowledged.

By submitting a manuscript to JEPCS, the authors confirm that:

  • the submitted work is original and does not infringe the copyright or other rights of any third party;
  • all authors have approved the submission and agree to its publication if accepted;
  • permission has been obtained for any copyrighted material reproduced from other sources where such permission is required; and
  • upon acceptance, JEPCS is authorized to publish, distribute, archive, and make the article publicly available as the version of record.

Authors may enter into separate, additional non-exclusive arrangements for distribution of the journal's published version of the work, such as depositing it in an institutional repository or including it in a scholarly collection, provided that the article's initial publication in JEPCS is acknowledged.
